Happy Daddy's day

'For a minute there, I lost myself' This is the tattoo my dad has on his arm, I am so glad that my father found himself again, even if he needed some help along the way. He will always be my big strong daddy and my hero and I love him so much. This father's day will be spent looking forward and celebrating, not looking back and crying.

Praying for sunshine.
Undoubtedly one of the best moments of my life. Florence + the machine played Glastonbury for the fourth year in a row, the first year was at the tea tent during breakfast. This performance was far from small, with the sun setting and gentle heat, Florence's set was beautiful.
' As she plays tracks from debut album Lungs, the crowd sings along to hits such as the Drumming Song and non-hits such as Between Two Lungs, giving Flo a spring in her bare-footed steps. As the set builds, she ends Dog Days Are Over by getting the crowd to jump in unison (something that manages to make the entire field quiver) before covering Fleetwood Mac's The Chain.'

Because this isn’t Paris, and this isn’t London, and it’s not Berlin, and it’s not Hong Kong, not Tokyo, if you want to go, I’ll take you back one day.

Can't stop listening to this.

Tent troubles

Yesterday me and Josh decided to get out our tent to make sure it was okay before Tuesday so we didn't arrive with a broken tent! As we opened it, we discovered that we had forgotten to air it out after Leeds Fest last year, it still had old water in and a lot of mould err! We have jet washed it and aired it and left it out all day and night and then again today in the sun and I think it is finally in working order. It has been our little project for the past few days and we want to carry on our project. So we will spend all day cleaning the tent pegs and getting everything perfect haha. Idiots.
This was our little tent last year when we bought it brand new, after a long make-over it is looking this good again! Happy tent

Sufjan Stevens

Sufjan Stevens has been one of my favourite artists since I was very young, he has a beautiful voice, check him out...

Just two beautiful songs by him

This is me on my birthday. I look weird and innocent.

A week to go...

This time next week, I will be getting ready to head down to Glastonbury later that evening, I am incredibly excited and unprepared. I cannot wait to be back in that field with my friends and music and sunshine, (I'm praying there is sunshine). I think I love Glastonbury a little too much!

Everyone has a secret.

Over the years, post secret has been a massive part of my life. Every Sunday I visit www.postsecret.com and read people from all over the worlds secret's. The secrets are often inspiring/heartbreaking/funny/unbelievable/upsetting/familiar/fascinating. Post secret has taught me a lot, in year 11 I did a presentation on it, 3years later and I still read it, every Sunday. Thankyou post secret, you've taught me so much.

Just two from this week about fathers for father day, these are two I feel I can relate to. Amazing.
I want to give you everything you've ever wanted

Birthday, you're not 19 forever

Well, Friday was my birthday and I have had such a busy weekend, hence the lack of blog updating.

Friday was a lovely relaxed day, me and Josh went in to town and met my best friend Evie who had come back from Leeds with her uni friends Rose and Katie. We went to Lee Rosy's for a drink and a natter and it was so lovely to see my bestest again. Her friends were lovely too. We then went shopping and handed out a few CVs on our way. I ended up buying a lovely dress and playsuit with some birthday money I got! We then headed back to mine and we were greeted by my mum and dad who had my presents laid out on the table in the living room. I opened all my presents and was so so happy with every single one! Over the course of the weekend I got:
  • A shirt/blouse I had wanted for so long from American Apparel
  • Another button up no sleeve top with flowers on
  • These amazing shoes i wanted for ages
  • Lip gloss
  • Pyjamas
  • A necklace
  • A bracelet and ring
  • A trip to London Zoo
  • A picture frame with nice photos in
  • £65 worth of topshop vouchers
  • A scarf
  • Brogues
  • A bag
  • Money
I think that is everything! Basically, I couldn't have wanted any more and was so so happy!

Later that evening on the Friday, me, Josh, mum and dad, tabba and chris and my Nanny and Robert went for cocktails and then out for a meal at Zizzi's! It was amazing and I had such a lovely day.

On Saturday, we all woke up very early to begin making the 'nibbles', which turned out to be an amazing spread (when my mum is around there is always amazing cooking involved). Aimee then arrived all the way from Wolverhampton and it was so lovely to see her! The sun was glorious (for a change) and everything went perfectly. Everyone turned up and had fun. We all started drinking at 3:30pm sharp haha and went out at about 8pm to M.E.T.H.O.D. I don't remember much after the point of getting on the bus, but I know I had an amazing night and literally couldn't stop dancing and jumping around.

I want to thank everyone who made my birthday so special and I am so glad that everything seems to be going pretty well for me, my family and my friends at the moment.

Here are just a few pictures from the weekend:

http://alicepyne.blogspot.com/ Check out this inspiring blog and now worldwide twitter sensation! Alice has managed to receive over a million blog views, she is trending worldwide on twitter and has been talked about on a few programmes on TV. Her sister has also raised a massive amount of money by running the 'Race for life' in behalf of Alice and many other people suffering with Cancer. My dad worked for cancer research UK for 10 years and this is such an amazing thing for the charity and for cancer awareness.

Bombay Bicycle Club

Bombay Bicycle Club have been one of my favourite bands for a while now, they are such a summery band and I am so pleased they are playing at Glastonbury this year, along with many more of my favourites!
